Katie Peters Collection: Unpublished Genealogies

Description

The genealogies in this collection are unpublished family histories. Many were compiled by Katie Peters (see tribute to Katie in Mennonite Historian, March 1986) after whom the collection is named. However, the collection also contains genealogies compiled by others.

The genealogies range from a few handwritten pages to several hundred, stored in duo-tang folders. Some are a "collection" of families that share the same last name, but without documentary evidence that they are biologically related. These compilations are designated with the word "collection" in the description. Consult the index for a listing of surnames that appear in families due to marriage.

Many of the unpublished genealogies listed below have been scanned and PDF copies of these are available for download. Consult the list below for the "family" of interest and note the number. Then see if a PDF copy exits by scrolling down to the table that follows the descriptions and click on the file name to view or download.
