Biographical Sketch
Marianne Leah Janzen was born on December 31, 1942, to Julius H. Heinrichs and Agnes Klassen. Her mother died when she was thirteen years old and her father was often ill. For this reason she spent a lot of her growing up years with relatives. On April 22, 1967, she married Herman Janzen. Together they had four children.
Marianne Janzen has been involved in historical research for a number of years. She has edited The First Mennonite Settlers in Russia (1789), compiled First Families who Immigrated from Prussia, and co-edited Kornelius Heinrichs and His Descendants, 1980, in addition to many other smaller projects. She lives in Winnipeg with her family.
