Administrative History

The Vancouver Chinese Mennonite Brethren Church in Vancouver, British Columbia began services in 1990 with support from the BC Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches Board of Church Extension. Its core members came from the closed Gideon Chinese Mennonite Brethren Church, a ministry out of the Killarney Park Mennonite Brethren Church.

The Vancouver Chinese Mennonite Brethren Church was formally organized in 1991 and since have been affiliated with the Mennonite Brethren family of conferences.

Joseph Sun is considered the founding leader of the group. As of 1995 they had 82 members; and in 2000, 92.

Leaders of the congregation include the following: Joseph Sun (1991–1995) and Yiu Tong Chan (1995–2017), Amos Ka Lun Tam (2018– ).
