Administrative History
Maple Ridge Community Church in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, began services in 1984 with several families who wanted to plant a church in their community. They formally organized in 1985 with help from the BC Mennonite Brethren Conference’s Board of Church Extension. Ed Goerzen and a steering committee are considered the founding leaders of the group.
The church has been affiliated with the BC Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches, the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches since its beginning in 1985.
In 1985, there were 36 members; in 1995, 111 members; in 2000, 114 members; in 2010, 125 members.
Leaders include Ed Goerzen (1985–1995), Dean Richmond (1995–2004), and Duane Goerzen (2004– ).
