Administrative History
Friends Community Church opened January 4, 2004, after Carman Gospel Light Church closed in 2003 (see Carman Gospel Light Church). The Mennonite Brethren Church Manitoba helped to support the church plant along with Dale and Marge Warkentin. Mennonite congregations in Winkler, Elm Creek, and Newton also helped to support the new church. Congregational interaction is an important part of Friends Community Church. So, on Sunday people sit at rounds tables instead of pews.
The leaders of the church included: Dale Warkentin (2003–2012), Jedidiah Carpentier (2012–2014), Terry Sawatsky (2016?– ).
