Administrative History
The congregation was founded in 1965 by the Alberta MB Home Missions. In 1968, the congregation officially organized and joined the provincial and national MB Conferences. They met in rented facilities until 1969 when they completed construction of their own meeting house. They allowed inter-Mennonite individual membership from 1975.
The leaders of the congregation were Abe Martens (1965–1970), W. Epp (1970–1973), W. Wiens (1973–1977), D. Rempel (1977–1978), Jacob Penner (1978–1982), Elmer Thiessen (1982), David Rempel (1983), David Funk (1984–1989), Mark Jantzen (1990–1997), Murray Schmidt (1998–2004 ), Jim Miller (2005–2006), John Willems (2007–2015), Kevin Koop (2015–2018), Evan Beasley (2022– ).
The language of worship is English.
Scope and Content
This fonds consists of a congregational historical sketch (1978), church council minutes (1975–1976), congregational minutes (1965–1974), church board minutes (1969–1974), financial reports (1975–1976), correspondence (1975), congregational constitution drafts ([197-?]–1975), a 25th anniversary book (1991), and a 50th anniversary book (2016).
Custodial History
This material was donated to the Centre for Mennonite Brethren Studies by the church. In 2015, a 25th anniversary book was added to the collection. The book had initially been part of the files of the Conference Minister of the Canadian Conference of MB churches, which was donated by David Wiebe in 2005. In 2016, the 50th anniversary book was added.
