Administrative History

The planning for a Winnipeg inner city congregation began in 1975 by Manitoba MB Missions. In 1977, the Christian Resource Centre was begun. Worship services were begun at the centre in 1979. In 1983, the Cornerstone Christian Fellowship was established as a congregation with 17 charter members. In 1985, the group joined the Manitoba Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches.

Cornerstone provided ministries in the areas of counseling, visitation, Bible studies, and social ministries. It provided a nurturing centre for members. As a result of joint discussions over a period of time, the congregation severed its relationship with the Manitoba Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches in 1991. It divided into two house churches, one of which closed about two years later (Livingstones) and the other has remained active (Watershed).

The leaders of the congregation were: Paul Patterson (1977–1991) and Cal Wiebe (1985–1991).

The language of worship is English.
