Administrative History
The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada aims to “...unite in work and witness, to prayerfully strengthen their position against the assault of liberalism, apostasy and spiritual nihilism. [They] further believe evangelicals need to defragmentize their Christian work to the end that they might make their co-operative thrust more relevant and effective, particularly in the articulation of the great, historic truths of the Word of God...” (“Constitution of the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada” – [ca. 1974]).
The Manitoba branch appears to have already been in existence by 1970 (see photo in MAID at https://archives.mhsc.ca/index.php/manitoba-evangelical-fellowship-executive). In 1974, the leadership of the Manitoba branch included Arie Van Eek – chairman, Harold Jantz – vice chairman, Bryan Hill – secretary, and Rose Romaniuk – treasurer. The Manitoba branch disbanded in 1982.
Historically, members of the Mennonite Brethren Church have played key leadership roles with the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada.
