Biographical Sketch
Jacob J. Doerksen (GRanDMA ID: 455692) was born on 2 November 1907 in Blumenfeld, Nepluyevka, South Russia. His parents were Jacob F. Doerksen and Agatha Krause. He immigrated to Herbert, Saskatchewan, with his family in 1927. In 1933, he married Anna Kehler in Herbert and together they raised five children (Leonard, Betty, Esther, Ruth, and Daniel). In 1943, the family relocated to Abbotsford, B.C. Jacob was a teacher, minister, and farmer. He died in Abbotsford, B.C., on 22 February 1952.

Scope and Content
The pages in this collection consist of transcripts of four oral interviews that Dorothy Peters and Christine Kampen conducted with members of the Jacob J. and Anna Doerksen family. These interviews were used by Dorothy and Christine in the writing of their family memoir, Daughters in the House of Jacob (Kindred, 2016).
