Administrative History

In 1927, a group of people held a meeting and decided to organize into a Mennonite Brethren Church. Anton Baerg was elected as the first leader of the Manitou Mennonite Brethren Church. At first the congregation met in a school. When the congregation outgrew the school, in the summer, they moved to an available machine shed. In the winter, they divided up into four groups and met in homes. In 1931, it was decided to build a church. Once a month, the congregation held a youth service. Another building was built in 1967. The church had a 50th anniversary celebration in 1977. Another building was purchased in 1983 and attached to the original building for Sunday School. In 2018, the church changed its name to Manitou Christian Fellowship.
