Administrative History

This congregation began services in 1989 through outreach by the BC Mennonite Brethren Conference and the Willingdon Mennonite Brethren Church. It was formally organized in 1990, and the first leader was Ted Klassen. The group met in the Terry Fox Senior Secondary School and, by 1995, there were 69 members. The numbers increased for in 2000 there were 89 members. The church was affiliated with the BC Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches and the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches.

Ted Klassen served in 2001 as congregational leader. In 2002, John and Ev Wiens became the interim pastor couple until Eugene and Sonia Harder, entered the position. In 2003, Pastor Ken Braun and his wife Joan were called to lead the congregation at Hyde Creek. The language of worship is English.

In 2010 the congregation's membership was 69 and the average weekly attendance was 81.

The church held its final service on 26 June 2016.

Leaders of the Hyde Creek Community Church include Ted Klassen (1990–2002), Ken Braun (2003–2014).
